Going out on a jet ski involves more than just getting on watercraft and enjoying time on the water. There are a few pieces of gear that you want to have on hand so that you’re safe and a few items that items are protected.
Life Vests
An important piece of jet ski gear that you want to wear is a life vest. If you’ll have a passenger, then that person needs to have a vest on as well. Even if you know how to swim, you could be in the water for some time after an incident and become too tired to keep yourself afloat.
Waterproof Box
A phone can be beneficial while on a jet ski so that you can call for help if you get in trouble. It can also be used to take pictures of some of the sights that you see while on the water. However, you need to keep your phone dry so that it will still work. A dry box can be kept under the seat so that it’s protected and ready if and when it’s needed.
Lines
When you dock your jet ski, you want to have a line with you. This piece of jet ski gear should be attached to the vehicle and should be long enough so that you can easily tie it to the dock. Make sure the line is secure before getting off the jet ski so as to prevent the vehicle from floating away while you’re on the dock or on the shore.
